We Believe
Like Christians everywhere, we believe in Jesus Christ, as expressed in the Apostles’ and Nicene Creeds. We believe in the Holy Scriptures, understood through reason and tradition. We believe the Sacraments, including Baptism and Holy Communion, are outward and visible signs of inward and spiritual grace. These beliefs are held in common by Episcopalians, but the Church also values intellectual freedom and individual conscience in matters of faith.
Our mission statement reads: Church of the Nativity inspires love of God, creation, self, and others. We live into this philosophy through Christ-centered worship; Christian education for all ages; outreach and ministry opportunities in our faith community and beyond; and care provided to those around us during life's tougher moments.
We offer one service of Holy Eucharist Rite II at 9:30am on Sundays, with Communion open to all. Our worship primarily stems from the Book of Common Prayer, Enriching Our Worship, and the New Zealand Prayer Book - changing seasonally. Once a month is a lay-led Sunday service of Morning Prayer, also at 9:30am.
